knowlton farms

knowlton farms also enjoys a protected ridge with a moisture collecting trough  where ocean fog often arrives late in the afternoon and, like a good friend, only spends the night, then dissipates by late morning, giving a unique air character to vineyards on the hills and valley.

the air is often slightly saline, and the moist currents coming in and out seem to both nurture and protect the tender skin of the pinot noir fruit, and provide the heat for the hardier chardonnay grapes.
